How is everyone? Today is the first day I've felt "pretty good" getting up early and so I feel like that's a good thing :) I am still getting tired very easy (to be expected) but I know my energy will increase with each passing day....I find I'm not hungry at all really, and even when I begin to think I am just the 2 oz of full liquids I am to eat at meals more than fills me up...I hadn't really be 'craving' or 'thinking' about any foods but then last night my kids got pizza and bread sticks from a local pizza place and I thought man those bread sticks sure sounded good, however I knew I couldn't even begin to each  a 1/4 of one of them if I tried...I of course didn't even look at them :) lol...but it's funny how the mind works....i was kinda bummed over not being able to have one and I wasn't even hungry at all. I have lost about 13# thus far and today I am 1wk (7 days) out. I did not gain in the hospital like most do as I had actually lost .06 lbs when I left the hospital on Sunday from my start weight. I have not walked much except in the house because it's just so hot outside and my engery level is zapped going out in it...I plan to begin walking in the evenings on monday next week....that should give me more weight loss i'm sure. well just wanted to check in with you all on this lovely thursday morning! thanks to all of you who have sent me well wishes and called me and emailed me. my journey is well on it's way....and i'm so excited about it! :) hugs Jen

Glad things are going well for you Jen,  Sounds like you are off to a great start,  I hear ya about the pizza and bread sticks, i didnt have any cravings early out but i had surgery on Nov. 1st so when thanksgiving came there was little i could eat. I did enjoy it though, No one could believe i could be full on one teaspoon of two things.   Yes its way too hot to be out during the day, I go out late in the evening and walk a little,  Nice to see you are doing well.  Take Care,  Hugs, Carla

Hi Jen,  So glad you are doing well!! I know what you mean about being tired- but your energy will return- then look out world- here she comes!  You know, I remember the first time there was food brought in- ick- I thought I'd be sick! Funny how our brain works & smells change! I use to love garlic- now, can't even smell it without feeling sick! That was a real "milestone" for you-  your "baby pouch" doesn't need it- think of a baby, you wouldn't give it pizza-right- AND YOU DIDN'T!!! Don't worry about walking very much outside- every step you take adds up- my hallway has worn spots form my going up & down it! So just keep moving girlfriend- 13# in a week is great!!!!! You are well on your way to a healthy U!!! My energy level has been low the past 2 days- hopefully after we change my bandage today, I'll feel better. That Loratab sure knocks me out, so I am trying to keep off of it. I get my drain tube out next Mon.I can't wait!! Have a great day! (((hugs))) Ellen

Well its Thursday....HOT and SUNNY up here in Wabash....lol Just finished the morning and noon dishes and now online for a bit till the pain pills knock me out. I am sooooooooo tired of this torn ligament!  I want to get out and about...I might as well be bed ridden!

Anyway...no pity party for me...or for u jen and ellen!  Wonderful news about both of y'all.  I went to my PCP on tuesday for my letter of NO tobacco...no alcohol...no drugs...for 2 months. She said she would dictate that day and get it faxed to Doc Huse's.  sooooooo gonna call this afternoon and see if they have it.  When Doc Huse's office gets it...then is going to mail off ALL INFO needed for insurance approval.  Hope my approval goes as fast as jen's did! (12 d Well my INDIANA POSSE....stay cool and drink drink drink!!!!

Lord, keep me in your will so I won't be in your way.

GOOD TO SEE YOU HERE. GOOD JOB 13# IN THE FIRST WEEK THATS AWSOME. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK . I WALKED IN MY HOUSE THE FIRST WEEK SO I WOULDNT BE OUT AND GET OVER TIRED . JUST REMEMBER IF YOU DO GO OUT SIP SIP SIP, WE WOULDNT WANT YOU TO DEHYDRATE.  I FELT THAT WAY OVER PIZZA BUT AFTER AWHILE YOU JUST DONT WANT IT . SOMETHING LIKE THE SMELL OF SOMETHING THAT YOU LOVED WILL JUST TURN YOU OFF AND FROM THEN ON ITS OVER AND DONE WITH , LEAST IT IS FOR ME. IF THE SMELL MAKES ME THINK TWICE I KNOW MY NEW LITTLE TUMMY WOULDNT LIKE IT SO I DONT BOTHER. AS FAR AS ME WELL ITS ONE DAY CLOSER TO FRIDAY AND FOR ME THATS AWSOME. AT WORK THURSDAY IS ACTUALLY MY MOST FAV DAY , WE HAVE NACHOS AND I CAN GET A SIDE OF BEANS WITH WHITE CHEESE FOR $0.90. LOL SOUNDS SILLY I KNOW BUT THEY ARE EVEN BETTER THEN TACO BELLS BEANS.  WELL ITS LUNCH TIME AND I WANT TO READ SOME MORE POSTS HAVE A BLESSED DAY .

Jen, So glad to hear that you're doing pretty good.  Hopefully this heat will go away.  It's so much better walking outside than in house.  Actually I want cooler weather tomorrow and Saturday for the OH Campout.  lol

Take care and keep us informed of your progress.  Give my regards to Jeff.

Good Thursday everyone, Jen, way to go with the weight loss.  Isn't it amazing that such a little amount can be so filling.  I remember the food I wanted right after surgery was meatloaf as someone had brought that in for my son the day after I came home from the hospital.  The smell was so enticing and yet it was a little nauseating to think about actually eating it  which of  course I didn't. Vickie, way to go on your weight loss as well.  You are doing absolutely super!!  Ellen, hope you are doing better after your dressing change. I went for my 3 month check up yesterday.  Having trouble with being dizzy with standing and bruising so labs were ordered and I saw my PCP to have my B/P meds reduced.  This will be the second reduction of B/P meds since surgery and PCP thinks most likely I will be able to get off all the meds.  That would be amazing considering I used to be so hard to keep my numbers within normal range.  I have lost 70# so far so guess my body doesn't need as much medication.  I had kind of a wow moment today.  All my pants that I have been wearing (ones from the back of the closet that had been to small) were kind of hanging on me so decided to buy a couple of new pairs.   At the time of surgery I was wearing pants size 26.  Today I bought 3 pairs of size 18 pants.  I also wore a 4X top and today size 20.  I am so thrilled especially after just having had a 3 week weight stall.  As everyone says -- I was losing inches instead of pounds during that time.  WooHoo!  The best part of all of this though is how much better I feel.  I have no joint pain which is absolutely amazing.  I no longer park in the handicap parking at work but in the regular parking lot which means I walk 0.5 miles just to get from the parking lot to my desk.  Couldn't have done it before surgery.  Thank you Lord!  To those going the the camping outing this weekend, hope you have a great time.
